Ashok Chourasia Trust has undertaken several impactful initiatives during the year to improve the quality of life for marginalized communities. Below are some of the key achievements:
More than 120 families have adopted improved water-related hygiene behaviors.
Families now regularly wash water pots and practice handwashing after defecation, promoting better health and sanitation.
Children in schools and AWCs were targeted under hygiene education campaigns.
However, expected results were limited due to the closure of these institutions during the reporting period.
3 water sources were renovated to provide safe drinking water in operational areas under Dhanbad district.
Additionally, 12 platforms and related infrastructure were repaired, improving community access to clean water.
Constructed nearly 110 compost pits in villages.
These were used to train local villagers in the scientific decomposition of organic waste to produce natural fertilizers.
This initiative supports vegetable farming, ensuring both health benefits and economic sustainability in rural areas.
2 rainwater harvesting tanks were renovated through Gram Sabha under the guidance of Ashok Chourasia Trust.
These tanks are expected to irrigate more than 100 acres of agricultural land.
The intervention aims to protect paddy crops from drought, promoting climate resilience and food security.
