"Degrees may open doors, but skills open lives."
In rural and underdeveloped areas, unemployment and lack of skill-based training continue to hinder progress. At Ashok Chourasia Trust, we believe that practical skills lead to lasting empowerment. Our goal is to help individuals become self-reliant, confident, and economically independent, especially youth, women, and persons with disabilities.
We design and deliver employment-oriented training programs that match local needs and market opportunities, ensuring people don’t just look for jobs—they create them.
Tailoring and Embroidery Training
Women from rural SHGs (Self Help Groups) are trained in tailoring, stitching, and traditional embroidery, enabling them to take up orders or launch home-based units.
Digital Literacy & Computer Education
Youth are taught computer fundamentals, typing, internet usage, and digital tools, preparing them for jobs and freelancing in the modern world.
Vocational Training
Programs include mobile repairing, carpentry, motor mechanic training, and other hands-on trades that can provide sustainable livelihood.
Entrepreneurship & Mentoring
We support individuals with basic business training, bookkeeping, marketing, and mentorship to start their own micro-enterprises.
Soft Skills Development
Workshops are held to build communication, interview skills, leadership, and confidence—especially useful for first-generation learners and job seekers.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Self Help Group women, with the support and direction of Ashok Chourasia Trust, started producing cloth masks using two sewing machines. Over 5,000 masks were created and distributed in the local community.
This initiative:
Supported the community’s public health response
Provided economic relief to SHG members and their families during the lockdown
Reinforced how skill-building can provide resilience during crises
Unemployed rural youth
Women in marginalized communities
Differently-abled individuals
School and college dropouts
Hundreds of trained individuals have gained employment or launched micro-businesses
Women are contributing to household income and gaining confidence
Entire communities are becoming economically and socially self-reliant
Our mission is not just to create job-seekers, but to build a generation of job-creators, innovators, and skilled community leaders.
