"Serving the most vulnerable during the harshest times is not charity – it is humanity in action."
In rural and economically backward regions, even basic survival during harsh seasons or emergencies becomes a challenge for thousands of people. Natural calamities, extreme weather, sudden crises, or chronic poverty often leave families without food, shelter, or warmth. Understanding this urgent reality, Ashok Chourasia Trust has made Relief and Humanitarian Support a critical part of its mission.
This vertical focuses on providing timely, need-based assistance to the poorest and most affected communities, ensuring that no one suffers in silence due to the lack of basic necessities. From distributing warm blankets during freezing winters to supplying food kits during pandemics and floods, our aim is to uphold human dignity during times of distress.
1. Blanket Distribution Drives
Every winter, we organize blanket distribution drives in the remotest villages, especially targeting the elderly, widows, street-dwellers, and physically challenged individuals who cannot afford protection against the cold.
“A warm blanket may seem small, but it can save a life during the bitter cold.”
2. Emergency Food Assistance
During floods, lockdowns, or sudden job loss situations, Ashok Chourasia Trust provides dry ration kits, including rice, wheat, pulses, oil, and other essentials, to families who are unable to afford daily meals.
3. Disaster Relief and Medical Aid
When natural disasters strike — whether a heavy flood, a fire incident, or drought — we respond with on-ground relief teams offering essential supplies, hygiene kits, drinking water, and where possible, access to first-aid and medical checkups through mobile health camps.
4. Seasonal Relief Campaigns
Throughout the year, we conduct seasonal campaigns such as:
Summer hydration and ORS distribution
Winter clothing and woolen wear for children
Mosquito net distribution in monsoon-prone areas
5. Partnering with Local Communities
All relief efforts are carried out in partnership with local volunteers, Panchayat members, and community leaders to ensure the support reaches those who genuinely need it, without any bias or delay.
Relief is not just about providing materials – it is about showing up when it matters the most. It is about extending a hand of hope to those who feel abandoned by the system. At Ashok Chourasia Trust, we make sure that:
Every donation is used transparently
Every relief drive is well-documented and community-led
Every individual is treated with respect and compassion
Over 2,500 blankets distributed in Katras, Dhanbad surrounding rural blocks
More than 1,200 families supported with food kits during COVID-19 and floods
Relief aid provided in 15+ disaster-hit villages in Jharkhand since 2022
This initiative continues to grow as we prepare for future emergencies, ensuring that Ashok Chourasia Trust remains a pillar of support for the vulnerable, not just in good times but especially in their worst.
